A LEGACY OF COMPASSIONATE CARE
PEACHTREE CHRISTIAN HOSPICE
Peachtree Christian Health traces its roots back to Peachtree Christian Hospice, a nonprofit in-patient hospice center that operated from 2000 to 2017 in Duluth, Georgia. Thanks to the vision and generosity of D. Scott Hudgens, Jr., who provided the construction funding and donated the 8.6-acre property, the hospice staff and volunteers compassionately served over 12,000 patients and their families. During this time, Peachtree Christian Health functioned as an outreach ministry of Peachtree Christian Church, initially under the late Dr. James Collins, Senior Pastor, and under the clinical operation of PruittHealth.
A New Chapter of care
Due to financial constraints affecting PruittHealth, the hospice eventually closed in 2017. However, the Hospice Board of Directors was determined to carry on the mission of serving families and their loved ones. They decided to transform the organization's purpose into an adult day and brain health center. After 18 months of expansion and renovation, Peachtree Christian Health opened on July 1, 2019. Peachtree Christian Health opened on July 1st, 2019, we proudly serve caregivers in Gwinnett, North Fulton, Forsyth, Hall, DeKalb, and beyond.
Treasuring our legacy
Peachtree Christian Health is grateful for the contributions of many individuals and organizations who made this new era of vital service possible. These include the late D. Scott Hudgens, Jr., former Senior Pastor of Peachtree Christian Church Dr. James Collins, former co-chairmen of the Hospice Board of Directors William Todd and Martha Todd, PruittHealth's Chairman and CEO Neil Pruitt, dedicated board members, staff, volunteers, and benefactors. Together, their support has allowed Peachtree Christian Health to continue providing compassionate and dignified care to the community as an adult day care center.
